A Jeep Cherokee has the code XJ from the factory. It is the same as the new Grand Cherokees being WJs. The "pioneer" is a trim package on XJs. There were also Briarwoods, Wagoneers (not grand wagoneers) and Sports etc. I have a 1988 Pioneer Cherokee. Anythinng listed for the XJs or for Cherokees will fit. Actually from 1984 to 2001 a lot of stuff will work. Body panels from 1984 to 1996 are interchangeable. Any other questions ask 'em here; you'll get answers! Good luck.

I'm working on some info you might like I should have it posted tonight. really cool info.
spring packs are always the better way to go but if the budget can only handle add aleafs go for it. 3 inch lift with 31 should be ok. You might need a bit of trimming.

I would go with complete leaf pack if you can afford it. I can't so I'm in the add a leaf scene. I am looking at lifts now. My choices are the Rubicon Express 3.5" or Rusty's 4.5". Both are very complete and get good reviews. Jdogg told me that the Rusty's leafs settle (read sag) a bit. You may need to drop your transfer case a bit too. An inch is OK. It is just a spacer; like a body lift. They are not big money. If you get an add a leaf set up, get LONG add a leaf. Short ones are really rough. As for price you will get what you pay for. Adjustable track bar and longer control arms should factor in to your equation.

if you go with rusty's I think you could tell him that you want to get a different size leaf and he might do that for ya. you might have to pay the difference?? hard to say Just give them a call and see what they say then make the call on it. I talked with dirk at dpg about 8 times before I orderd the kit from him. and I talked to other places a few times. Rusty was always hard to get ahold of or get a call back so that was one reason I didn't go with him.
