steering column question

i am coming over from the cj forum to ask about my wife's liberty...

her steering column does not lock when i pull the key out. i am assuming that this is a problem right, i mean jeep didn't really make it like that?

If nobody replys to this with the answer by tomorrow, I'll check my wife's libby. I'm pretty sure it locks when the key is removed, but I'll check to make sure. Will.

I am on my second KJ now and noticed that both were the same. You had to turn the wheel about a half turn before it locked up. My ZJ and XJ seem to have to turn a lot smaller to lock up than the KJs. Hope that helps. Later...Clint

yep.....if you turn it to one side or the other it locks up...my 2000 XJ and 85 CJ both just lock right up...oh well...thanks!

should lock in two pos. 180 degrees apart yes older ones did every15 degrees
