I am looking to get a performance exhaust for my 2003 x and I am having issues tracking one down. Apparently there was a design change that affected the exhaust in a manner that caused a redesign.

I have checked with gibson and borla and they do not sell a cat back setup for the 2003's.

Are there any alternatives? Maybe other companies I should try?

Any point in the right direction would be great.

Yea, I read somewhere that the 03's have another cat and/or O2 sensor. Go by an exhaust shop and see what they would be able to do. A good shop could do one, but it will be a little more than a pre made kit. Or just wait another 6-8 months for the aftermarket to come out with them.

Funny, when I contacted borla they told me only the header was different, cat back had been sold already to many 03 owners?

I just did a custom exhaust on my '92 AWD RASTRO hi flo cat, vortex turbo muffler, custom pipes and stainless magnaflow 3.5" tip, $480 installed. will probally do the same to RUBI after lift. it sounds sweeeet! find a good exhaust shop, they'll set you up! TJ

I called borla yesterday and they confirmed that their cat-back system will work for an 03.

Gibsons is due to be released in about 3 weeks.

Does any one know of an advantage of one over another? Borla, Gibson or custom?

Just sound differently mainly. Each can be aluminum, stainless steel or galvanized, depending on how much you want to spend.
