I've got the 02 with the Quadradrive. I was just at the stealership getting screwed (I'll get back to that for giggles) and asked about a rubbing noise from my rear axle. The maintenance guy said that the Quad drive has a special differential that has some kind of plate. Anyways, he said that my problem should be solved by replacing the fluids. They want $150.00 per axle. Wow! His excuse was that it includes a special fluid additive. So to my question, anyone know what that additive is???? Where can you get it???? I don't want to spend $300.00 for a $50.00 job.

Now back to getting screwed. $425.00 to replace the spark plugs and wires on the wife Grand Caravan. It had an engine electrical problem that they wouldn't touch without replacng the plugs and wires. Any guesses on why I don't want to spend $300.00 on a simple axle lube. :wedgie:

Call the stealership and ask them if the additive is limited slip additive or check it out in your owners book. If it needs the limited slip additive and the gear lube, we have it here. Its a lot cheaper than 150 to do it yourself. I dont know what they would have changed on your WJ, but I dont think its much. I think your just need the Limited Slip additive. Call and talk to one of our techs to verify, then do it yourself and save a few bucks!

most of the new fluids have the additive processed right into them now.

The service manager said it was a separate vial of fluid that they put in. I'm pretty sure it is a limited slip additive.
