I recently replaced the passenger front interior door panel in my 97 ZJ. After the replacement, the keyless entry won't work. The switches on the door work for windows and locks, and I checked the batteries in the fob, but can't for the life of me figure this one out. Haynes is useless in this area.

Any suggestions?

thx.

I don't think the ZJ is much different than the XJ in this respect. If the passenger side isn't working it's because of the wiring or the components. You may have not seated a connector well enough or the lock solenoid may have deceided it was time to quit.

If you have a wiring diagram, you can pick up the voltage point in the connector for the lock. If it spikes then it is the lock. If not, the problem has to be in the connector, particularily if the driver side door works.

the keyless remote information is stored in the pass door module(master door switch) if you have the old one just replace it and you should be back in business. or go to the dealer and have them reprogram it. if you do that make sure you bring all of your keyless remotes with you as you program one, the other becomes unrecognizable.
