Hi, where is a safe place to place jack stands on a CJ2A? I was looking at the spring shackles but don't know if that will have any adverse affects. I can't access the frame rail because the springs are in the way. I'm putting all four wheels of the Jeep up in the air to go through the brakes, clutch system, and exhaust. Thanks in advance, Doug.

Hm, I don't know what else you plan do to on your Jeep, but what I do normally when I have to have the complete vehicle lifted (no matter if CJ or 8x8 ) is putting the jack under the axles and have it stand on four blocks... works fine.

Well, I plan on having all 4 wheels off. If the axle is a safe place to jack from then it must be a safe place to rest jack stands. Thanks for the tip.

Not good actually but thanks for asking. It didn't start all of last winter and we tried everything and threw a bunch of parts at it. Then my salty old Uncle, who has been working on cars for 40+ years, suggested changing the oil because the engine may not be getting enough compression (sound right?). It worked and then blew a hole in the exhaust...
Then my parents moved and used the garage and the Jeep's interior as storage.
It's now uncovered and uncluttered and I'm going through it hoping to take care of some necessary things before it's pressed into plow duty again.
