Powder Coat Frame????

I am researching ideas for the restoration and rebuild for my 65 cj5. Is it a good idea to powder coat the frame? Advantages? Disadvantages? I do realize that I would need to make all welds and other mods before coating.

Powder coating the frame is probably the best and most durable thing you could do and you can get it done cheaper than paint, yes get all you welding finished and NO bondo. Good luck with your project

Powder coating is without a doubt a good idea. I did'nt use it on my Willys, but I did have good luck using Dupont Centari Acrylic enamel paint. I added the hardner for more gloss and durability. It sprayed on easily and the results were very good. The paint has held up for many years. Just thought you could have another option.
