I went 4-wheeling over Thanksgiving and I hit a tree and dented my driver side front of the fender. It sucks! I busted off my fog light and now where the dent is, the paint is chipping. :x This sucks!
Ok I feel better now ;)

Aw come on, what Jeep that has seen action off road doesnt have some character marks. Mine has plenty of 'em. I just wax (what is that anyway) right over 'em. They add character. You shouldn't have to worry about rust too much, it isn't a Ford. :D

I don't care that the dent is there. I actually like "battle scars". I'm just pi$$ed that it happened. Usually, I am so careful. It just goes to show you what a little drinks can do to ya ;) :*

If you rode with me, you would have a blast! But I guess that's your loss. ;) Anyways what happened was...It was this muddy rut covered in snow (we got some snow Wed night). Anyways, as I was getting through the muddy rut, my backend slid on the snow and mud and wedged a tree inbetween my bumper and fender. I hadn't had that much to drink at that time...it was much later that happened :D

I'm so broke right now with buying a house I wish I could go wheelin on the weekends. I still need new tires before I get into some of the muddy stuff we got here in CO. I'd ride with ya. I like driving but I find it just as much of a kick to ride sometimes with good drivers.

8) sorry to hear about you character defect you've received. must be your first major ding. maybe a good time to get your rubicon? that's how I got mine. at least consider getting the goodyear mt/r's next time. hope I'm not jinxing myself, going out on 12/15 for the 2nd time w/my rubi. my 1st time, she was 19 days old, she got that kentucky pin stripping down in williamsburg @ the jjusa, gatweway to the cumberlands. luckily zymol got them all out. happy trails. Hey TJ-Rubi:
What is this zymol you speak of???
You're right it is the first body damage I have done. Don't get me wrong, I have the pinstripping going on but as far as dents and dings, this would be the first. I guess you could call me a dent virgin :D ...until now ;)

you know whats sucks is that my first dent wasn't even on the trails. I haven't been on to many challanging trails but thats going to change this summer. I took my jeep in for an oil change and the dip shat that was backing it out of the garage backed into one of the test stands and cracked the plastic end cap.

Hey tjmagoo,
Zymol HD-Cleanse (pre-wax cleaner), is a non-abrasive, essential oil based paint cleaner that feeds your paint and releases trapped dirt, impurities and dead paint resulting in the restoration of your original paint lustre. It's kinda expensive, around $25 for 8.5 oz. (enough to do an entire vehicle.) I've found it works miracles. Be sure to use their carnuba wax afterwards. www.zymol.com (800) 999-5563 for a dealer near you. TJ

My philosophy with body damage is: if it rubs on the tires, beat it back outta the way with a big hammer. Forgotten hammer? Use a river rock. I had to do that once with a Humvee floorboard that landed on a rock climbing a small cliff. Landed kinda funny, big old dent popped up in the floor. Don't worry, I used a government-issued rock. :D

TJMagoo, I feel ya, it sux. We've all had that first "bad one". I've already had to replace all my fender flare$. The first casualty was the passenger rear. Went down an embankment sideways in the driving rain plowing through a roll of cattle fencing. 2 beauties on the passenger door, damaged the door handle, and scraped/scarred the flare in about 12 places down to the plastic. I think that was right after I made my 2nd payment (DOHHH).
Since then I got every last one of'em, and they've all been replaced.
Got the last one much like you did your little job. Spent all night drinking, was sobering up on coffee and tacos, and got to feelin frisky. I was showing off in front of my gurlfriend  and was gettn squirly down a 200yd grassy pass covered in ice. I swear I would stop in time  . Took a cluster of cedar trees right in the grill and managed to lodge a nice sized stump between the tire and fender well (back, driver). Tried to cuss it outta there for about 15mins, b4 i had to hit it w/4wheel low in reverse. I now carry a folding camping saw when I go wheelin. I try not to show off too much anymore either. You can see how I was lookin after that little fiasco.

Ok, here are the pics of the damage. I think I am just going to pull out the dent and touch-up paint the rest so it doesn't rust.

o ya thats not bad I had to go back and read how it happend. my backend slid on the snow and mud and wedged a tree inbetween my bumper and fender
I was going to say a bumper like that and you still dented the fender???
makes sence now. but put some of them there bullet holes over it and you'll never notice.

If the parking lot had security cameras, ask to have the store review the results of the days activites in the parking lot. Parking lot cams are usually put on a random setting of they move at all, but it might be worth your while... Just trying to help. Hit and runs suck for sure.

Hey TJ Magoo, time to put flat fenders on the TJ. Just trim it off and make flat fenders out of it. Put some CJ turn signals under the headlights and have some fun. Makes for some more tire clearance too. :D

unfortunatly I was at 4-5 different places that night and didn't see the damage till the following morning when I walked out my front door. thanks for the suggestion, RUBI's going to the body shop 1/6/03 get 1/4 repaired as well as welding up the 10 holes in the tail gate from the stock tire carrier.
