  • Recommend an oversized tire rack?

I have a '95 YJ, 3" susp lift, 33" tires, Smittybilt tube bumpers. I try to take my Jeep out on the trails about every other week. I need a strong rack for my spare. Can anyone recommend a good one that'll work with tube bumpers?

How To Not Spend Money On An Overpriced Tire Mount

    Step 1: Remove back seat
Step 2: Toss (or gently set) spare tire in rear bed area
Step 3: Duct tape tire down until needed.

Well, you only really need two tools...duct tape and WD-40....

If it moves and it shouldn't, use the duct tape (as in this situation)

If it doesn't move and should, use the WD....

In all honesty, the only one I can think of is the Bestop one that mounts to the tub and the frame, but after seeing it on soemone's YJ after about 2 yrs, i wouldn't recommend it. The tub is quite tweaked (even with teh re-inforcement brackets) and one of the welds on the carrier itself broke. Hate to say it, but you either need to build one (if the bumper will handle it), or get a different bumper...
