  • T-176 w/Chevy V8

I was just wondering if there would be any problems using my T-176 tranny with a 300 horse Chevy 350? I know that the T-176 was originaly designed for the AMC V8, but I'm not sure if it will convert well with a Chevy block. Has anyone here tried this before?

My 176 has held up just fine with my 375 horse 360 AMC.

      Hello,
Jeepcat, how did you get 375 horse power out of a 360? Did you have some head work done and what kind of camshaft did you use? I have a '79 304 with a 600 Holley and an Edelbrock Performer intake. This thing is a boat anchor. I'm lookong for a 401.

I got 375 horses out of my 360 through very extensive head work.I am a machinist.I bored the mill over , fitted with new pistons. The heads were ported and polished, fitted with bigger valves. The cam is as steep as I could find, and the motor LOVES fuel.E-mail me and I will send you some pics. The crank had mass work done also.
