    I realize there have been many post about the TFI ignition upgrade and I have tried to read them all. But I too must say that it was a worthwhile project. I did the upgrade complete in 1 ½ hours after work. There was a noticeable improvement in performance. The 5th in the T5 is actually usable. Total cost for all new parts was $102 at local parts store. (Did not include new spark plugs). Jeep is ’83 CJ7, 258, Nutter was already done. Actually still running Carter carb. Only vacuum currently used is dizy advance, PCV, and evap can. In other words, all emissions are removed. Currently running 31” tires. Timing seemed best at 8 degrees set at 750 rpm with dizy vacuum line still attached.

    Overall improvement in performance from starting, idle, cruise, accel.

    Thanks to all the guys who took the time to put the write-ups out there for us to use.

    I agree. That was the best $100 I spent on my 258. Woke that tired old motor up.

      I totally agree, my old 78' engine runs like new.
