  • SOA brake question

I'm currently doing a spring over and trying to figure something out for the emergency brake cable. The cable is limiting the drop. Any ideas out there for the fix? I want to keep it in working condition.

Facing the same problem on my CJ.

The passenger side was easy, I just unbolted the little bracket that holds the cable in the middle in front of the gas tank. I will install a spring instead of the bracket to keep it up out of the way, but let it drop when needed.

The driver's side is troublesome. I'm thinking of relocating the bracket to gain some drop, but I would really like to find a longer cable, that would solve all.

I have about 5" of SUA lift and just replaced my ebrake cables. I had to use 2 pass. side cables as there was no way the stock drivers side would have worked. I haven't adjusted it yet but I can't see it not working. I'm going to check NAPA's website and make sure both sides have the same length difference between the cable and casing.
