  • Decoding the past...

I have an 82 CJ7 and I was wondering what it looked like way back when it was new. Does anyone know where I can find info on the metal I.D. plate rivited to the fire wall in the engine compartment. I know what the numbers represent but not specifically.

    Paint Gun = 13

    Paint Option = P1

    Trim Option = 1EB

    Late.

Put your VIN in here. http://www.cjoffroad.com/writeup.asp?WU_ID=13&noAdd=1

Very good forums also, I learned alot about CJ's from this site.

      Got the VIN

I understand the VIN #. I was wondering about the ssr o, original paint, and trim package. Its on that rivited tag that includes the vin #.

For a 1982, the paint option code P1 is "Classic Black".

The FSM say to "Consult your Jeep Parts Catalog" for decoding the trim option.
