  • Lifting engine

I'm going to lift the enginge out of the jeep this weekend, and wonder where the best places to attach the lift sling. The transmission is already on the floor.

I think something like this is best.

      x2.

i've also lifted them by putting bolts with washers through a chain and then bolting to the heads or intake. the washers stop the bolts from going through the chain.

x2: A chain is how I've done all mine, even that brand new 350 crate motor I just dropped in my Jeep.

chain & washer in the head & I can lift my 258 with tranny & transfer case attached no problems, it's not real heavy more akward than anything.

yeah x7 on the chain its cheaper and works great. i use a bolt hole in the head front and back. just be careful and leave the valve covers on so the chain doesnt mess up the rockers or valve springs. and with my tall lift i allways take the grill and radiator off so the picker doesnt have to go up so high.
