  • Motor fit question

I am looking at a chevy 5.3 liter\327 vortec eng. as an upgrade to my CJ7.

    Looking at it on e-bay.

Not a great side picture so my question is has anyone on this board installed this version of motor?

I am trying to figure out if the oil pan is the a standard shallow forward deep back set up or one of the newer ones where it is deep at the front of the motor and shallow in the back.

If it is the second will that fir in a CJ?

    Thanks

If the oil well is in the front, I don't think it will clear the front differential. I had the same problem with my ford motor. In my case, I could just buy a different pan and an extension for my oil pump sump.

From what I rermember, the 327 has the same dimensions as the 350. You'll need to swap to a rear sump and pan like 'Blur said.

        Motor Fit

Ok is there a oil pan swap that will fit these motors???

HAve seen 2 good deals on E-bay but if the motor will not fit the deal is not so good.
