  • CJ steering problems

I have had steering problems with my CJ5. It jumps to other lanes. I replaced the tie rod ends, brearings and put a new AGR Super 2 box with the heavy steer box bracket from 4WD. The jeep drives like a dream. I also replaced the steer shaft as well.

Thanks 4WD, my jeep now stays on the road.

Do a quick search on "Death Wobble". Theres plenty of ideas, from checking EVERYTHING to repacking your wheelbearings and hubs.

It's a Jeep thing. They do this. Big tires, bias ply tires, lifts and SOA's all really add to the issue.

Mine was really bad until I put on a steering stabilizer (I used a Skyjacker universal kit) and finally repacked my hubs. The stabilizer helped, the repack fixed it.
