  • Swap 360 for tired 258?

Does anything fit together if I swap the 360 - auto - ? from my '71 Waggoner into my '81 CJ7 with a 258 - T176 - D300, or is this a start over from the radiator cap and move to the rear of the vehicle? I'd like to swap the engine only, does this make sense?

There's a guy down the page putting a 360 in now under " Lift kit and tires" I'm sure he can answer some question for ya. DP

I swapped my 258 for a 304 (same block as 360) and was able to use everything from the 258, direct bolt in swap.

You will need to change the motor mount, flywheel, and radiator.

          Motor!

I am replacing a 258 with a 360 now and the hardest thing was finding a flywheel. I finally got one. GRN Boger has it right about what you have to replace but don't forget abut yur radiator-I am replacing mine because I do not want to run hot and ruin my brand new motor. My 1984 Jeep has the original radiator.

pass side frame mount - block mounts from a cj with a v-8 - flywheel/flex plate for that motor - gas line to driver side for the v-8 -258 line on pass side
