  • headlight lens is yellow

New to this site. Have a question or 2.
    1. How do you clean the inside of the leadlight lens? It is sorta yellow.
    2. How do you remove the headlight cover?

    Heh wildbill

cant take the lens apart, without allowing water to get in, then you'll blow those high$$ bulbs. Take a good quality buffing compound and buff the lens by hand, then coat with wax. Or just replace whole lens assy more big$$$$

    Good luck

I think your yellow is on the outside rather than the inside. My wifes caravan headlight covers were completely opaque and yellowed. It was recommended that I use a product called Flitz. The first polish removed all the yellow and most of the haze. The second polish had them as clear as factory new. It doesn't take a lot and a tube will last a long time. I even used it to polish the tail lights and the difference was amazing. http://www.flitz.com/index.html

Rstarch is right...any quality metal polish will work. Liquid polish that can be buffed with a drill-mounted buff would be the best.

Pepsodent works too...I've tried that with good results, but not as good as a real quality, liquidy metal polish and a buff ball (I like Mother's Powerball).

Really nasty plastic can be wet sanded with a very fine grit sandpaper and polished smooth, just like paint too.

Without knowing where you live I wouldn't know. You can order on line. Most ACE hardwares carry it. A certain major 4 Wheel Parts store in PA carries it. Do a google search for "Dealers for Flitz Metal Polish".
