Yes you will have to definately use a drop pitman arm or your drag link will be at a horrible angle.
As for brake lines I would use the longer brake lines because you get an automatic 5 1/2" lift with using stock springs with a SOA. I've seen guys with spring overs try to just take them off the frame and bend them down but usually they either snap because lack of enough slack or they get caught in the lug of the tire because they are bent down off the frame at the wrong place.
