  • J 10 pickup

I have a chance to buy a 1974 J10 pickup dirt cheap. It is a 258 6cyl auto. The rear axle looks like a Dana 44 with 6 lugs. The front axle is a passenger side drop with lockout hubs. My question is, are their enough parts on this truck that I could use on my yj to make it worth my while? The body is shot and not worth fixing up.

since your yj is dside drop you'll be needing a lot of those parts. if you do a complete swap you'll have to modify a few things like spring perches, motor/tranny/tcase mounts. there's going to be more than that, but it's a start.

engine should work, rear axle is wider, I think 2" wider, tranny might or not work , dont know. Transfer case and front end will not work unless u use old tranfer case with old axle(j10). Too much work for me, Projects like this always take twice as long and cost twice as much than projected, or buying a jeep that somebody already did it to if you are lucky.
