In the latest news, the New York Times announced this morning that in order to accept his Nobel Peace Prize, Obama is going to walk across the Atlantic Ocean.

          also in late news . . .

The makers of Cracker Jacks have announced that they intend to put a Nobel prize in every box.

Yesterday, on National Peoples Radio, the guy actually said the 'dignified' thing for our president to do would have been to refuse the prize.

I almost ran off the road. I also liked the part where the guy said 'the room gasped' when the winner was announced.

Then there was the comment that we as a people should be outraged that Obama didn't sweep the entire Nobel field because he had delivered speeches on those topics as well.

Oh, I almost forgot . . . the insignificant ESCALATION OF WAR in Afghanistan detail. You gotta wonder why Bush didn't get one. Wait a minute, Bush was an American.

It would seem all you have to do is exhibit extreme socialist tendencies to win this prize these days. Or, buy a box of Cracker Jacks.

            Let's make it interesting...

            1) go here:
            2) enter Barack Obama in the running.
            3) do it daily until December.

Perhaps he can win the Heisman Trophy as well. After all, he's done no less for football than he's done for world peace.

                        politics and backbones . . .

"STOCKHOLM, Sweden*Several prominent Chinese dissidents are among the Nobel Peace Prize nominees this year, but they are not likely to be awarded, according to commentators.

Chinese dissidents nominated include Wei Jingsheng, who spent 17 years in a Chinese labour camp for encouraging reforms of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), and democracy, environmental, and AIDS activist Hu Jia, who was sentenced to 3.5 years in jail last year for "subversive activities."

Gao Zhisheng, a prominent human rights lawyer who was kidnapped and tortured after attempting to defend Falun Gong practitioners, was also among the nominees. Hu Jia and Gao Zhisheng were also nominated for the award last year. CCP officials expressed anger about these nominations last year.

*I am aware that there was intense diplomatic pressure from Beijing after widespread reports*welcomed worldwide*that Chinese dissidents were being nominated," said Mr. McMillan-Scott, vice president of the European Parliament last year.

The International Peace Research Institute, Oslo (PRIO), an organization which gives running commentary on the Nobel Institute, suspects that the Nobel committee will not risk challenging China this year by awarding the dissidents. *I do not see a Chinese dissident as a particularly likely recipient in 2009,* Director of PRIO Kristian Berg Harpviken wrote."

Undoubtedly, a Chicago ghetto is far more dangerous than a government that will run over its own kids with tanks. Let's hear it for liberal backbone and standing up for what is right. This stuff is making me sick to my stomach.

P.S. The Blonde One said that if Obama made a speech on hockey and golf, he would win the Stanley Cup next year and likely force Tiger out of the game completely.

                          Elsewhere on the 'net...

Elsewhere on the Internet, someone has started a "Top Ten Reasons Why Obama Won the Nobel Prize"

                          1. Consolation prize for losing the Olympics
                          2. Who gives a rat*s you-know-what about Afghanistan, anyway
                          3. The Nobel Prizes in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology were already taken
                          4. Because Michael Jackson was unavailable
                          5. *We couldn*t give an *un-prize* to George W. Bush, and this was the next best thing*
                          6. For extraordinary diplomacy at the Gates-Crowley *Beer Summit*
                          7. *Obama? I thought we were giving it to Osama*
                          8. The Norwegians wanted to honor one of their own, and the committee discovered that Obama was born in Oslo, Norway, the son of a Volvo factory worker.
                          9. Norway needed to stimulate its prize industry, and Obama was willing to trade in an older, less efficient prize.
                          10. He was the 10th caller.

Relax guys, the Nobel lost all credibility when algore won it. Anything else is just more of the same. I am however, worried about the Heisman.
