Ok I have had a ZJ since February 2009, it has a 3'' Procomp lift and mud tires. I do most all my own work to it and I want to make it really nice, but I don't know somethings about them and don't know any one that does. But any way
Do you have to change steering out w/ a 6'' lift? And what do you have to change out on it when you put it at 6''s? |

6 inch is high you will need new drive shafts a sye for the tranfer case and a high sterring kit.even if you do the work yourself your be in to it for at least $4000 and that doesen't include tires and when you do bigger tires 35+ you need axels $1000 to$4000 each.you better have a fat walet

If you buy a 6" lift kit it will most likely have everything you need.
It is a common mistake to believe that you can simply put in spacers or new springs and run a lift longer than (by more than an inch or two) it was meant to be. Shop around for a quality kit. Save your money. Then make a decision.

I have a 3.5 Procomp on it already and don't wanna spend 2k or more on another kit when I could spend about 900 to get what I need. ANd I can't find High steering or a slip yoke eliminator kit for a NP242.

You are going to want to swap that 242 for a 231. if you are lucky you can find one with a SYE already on it.
If you want to put everything together a little at a time be my guest. To go taller you will need new lower control arms and if over 4.5 you will notice the need for uppers too. There will be very little left of the lift you currently have on the jeep if you want to run 6" of lift, and be driveable down the road. You don't necessarily need a high-steer conversion. Look at the steering from Currie or (drawing a blank)..... Just trying to help. I have been here before.
